For Writers

My first nonfiction book

So You’re Not Wonder Woman?: How Your Super Power Can Change Your Life

I almost didn’t homeschool because I believed God had called me to be a writer and a speaker. I didn’t see how I could do it all! But God is able to do more than we can ask or imagine and He’s certainly done that for me. In the midst of pregnancies, parenting, homemaking, and teaching my kids, I have somehow been able to blog, be published, to self-publish, and to be a part-time professional speaker. When women ask me how, I have to give the glory to God first and gratitude to my husband, second. Between their collective guidance, I have had just enough to do to fulfill my passion without being overwhelmed. And surprisingly enough, I haven’t had to promote myself much at all. God is a great manager! Certainly there are homeschooling moms who have written and spoken more than I have (even women who have more children!), but I have a longing to encourage those of you who want to share your hearts, not just with your precious families, but with the world through your words.

Whether you are an aspiring blogger, freelance writer, or author, I want to use Motivated Homeschooler to motivate you to fulfill your God-given passion. I will write what I hope are helpful how-to and inspirational posts just for you, and God willing, will write a book for homeschool writers including the stories and advice of the homeschool writers you admire. If you are an accomplished homeschool writer and would like to write a guest post for other writers, please contact me at melphd [at] aol.com.

Do you have a motivating blog or website for other homeschoolers? Please link up on our blogroll.

Welcome! I pray that you will leave here motivated to get school done (while still having fun). Because that's also my goal as a busy mom of six, I'm committed to updating this blog weekly. Thanks for sharing the resources here with others and motivating me with comments. You're a blessing!
